We are talking about 16 Slovak installations of Zuzana-2 self-propelled guns, and deliveries will begin next year.
Denmark has signed a letter of intent with Slovakia, Norway and Germany stating that the countries have jointly decided to make a financial contribution for the Slovak production and transfer of Zuzana-2 self-propelled artillery mounts to Ukraine, the Danish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
In total, the countries agreed to donate about 685 million kroner (about 92 million euros). Of this, Denmark contributes approximately 230 million kroner (30.9 million euros).
“With this donation, Denmark once again helps to provide important equipment to Ukraine. The war in Ukraine, unfortunately, will last. Therefore, it is very important that we also support the struggle of Ukrainians for freedom for a long time, ” Defense. Minister Morten Bydskov said.
In addition, on Friday, the Danish government received parliamentary support for an additional DKK 1.1 billion (€148 million) donation package to Ukraine. These funds will help ensure the supply of equipment and weapons for Ukraine.
“Many countries have already given large amounts, and Denmark’s total armament and military donation is now almost DKK 3.8 billion. But a longer and permanent contribution is needed. So it is important now that we can show our joint agreement to supply a large number of Zuzana-2 self-propelled guns,” said Bedskov.
Reuters, referring to information from the German Ministry of Defense, reports that we are talking about 16 Slovak installations, and deliveries will begin next year.
Recall that France intends to send to Ukraine from six to 12 of the 15 Caesar self-propelled artillery units requested by Kyiv, cutting Denmark’s order.
