The operator of Nord Stream 2 has notified the Danish Energy Agency that there is no more gas left in the gas pipeline – it is starting to fill with water.
The explosion of the Nord Stream pipe caused a record release of methane into the atmosphere. This was reported by Reuters.
“Previously, a similar gas release was in September in the Gulf of Mexico. The operating company Nord Stream 2 today informed the Danish Energy Agency that there is no more gas left in the gas pipeline – it is starting to fill with water . Without immediate repairs, the salt water will cause corrosion and make it unusable forever,” the message said.
Recall that the very information about gas leaks in the Nord Stream-1 and Nord Stream-2 pipelines appeared on September 27.
At the same time, Ukrainian experts analyzed the seismic data and found that the explosion that damaged the gas pipelines happened on September 26. They also concluded that it was an explosion with a yield of 700 kg of TNT. In Germany, it is believed that the strength of the explosive devices used is comparable to the impact of 500 kilograms of TNT.
As you know, NATO has already said that sabotage was the cause of the accident at the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines.
