This was announced by the spokesman of the Eastern Group of Forces Serhiy Cherevaty on the air of the all-Ukrainian news telethon on Saturday, October 1.
“The Russian grouping in the Liman area is surrounded. The settlements of Yampol, Novoselovka, Shandrigolovo, Drobyshevo, Stavki have been liberated, stabilization measures continue there,” he said.
He also confirmed that “about 5-5.5 thousand” Russian invaders were first surrounded in the Liman region.
“Our data showed that the grouping of Russians there (in the area of Liman – ed.) actually numbered in the region of 5-5.5 thousand. However, active hostilities “reduced” their combat strength, as well as some groups that are trying to break. That there is an establishment of the exact number of Russians at the moment requires an analysis to name the exact number,” the military explained.
According to Cherevaty, Russian attempts to “come in” were still recorded, but they were not very successful due to the actions of Ukrainian fighters.
Remember, the Institute for the Study of War previously said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are completing the siege of the Russian group in the Liman region.
