Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine found that the attackers “stimulated” the year of production of imported trucks.
The Security Service of Ukraine eliminated a fraudulent scheme at the customs of Zhytomyr. The malefactors caused the state almost 40 million hryvnias of losses. The SBU press center reported this on its Telegram channel on Saturday, October 1.
Fraudsters developed a criminal scheme for customs clearance of foreign trucks at Zhytomyr customs, the service said.
“More than 10 people were involved in arranging the deal, including six officials of the Zhytomyr-central customs post and several merchants from the regional center and Rivne,” the report said.
The SBU said that the attackers artificially “stimulated” the year of production of imported trucks. This made it possible to avoid paying established customs duties.
Ukraine lost almost 40 million hryvnias from excise duty and value added tax.
As previously reported, the deputy organized two fraudulent call centers – in Kyiv and Dnipro.
In addition, in Khmelnitsky, law enforcement officials exposed scammers selling non-existent cars.
