Russia mobilizes 1.2 million people for war in Ukraine – media

Most people were mobilized from rural areas, because “there was no media, no opposition and no more support for the war,” the sources said.

Russian authorities plan to involve 1.2 million mobilized people in the war against Ukraine. Emphasis will be placed on residents from Russian villages. On Friday, September 23, Meduza reported, citing a source close to one of the Russian ministries.

At the same time, according to another source close to the Moscow leadership, Russia plans to mobilize only 16,000 people to Moscow. Meanwhile, the St. Petersburg wants to call for even less – about 3.2 thousand Russians.

From the regional centers, most likely, they will recruit at a minimum. At the same time, people were mobilized mainly from rural areas, because “there was no media, no opposition and no more support for the war.”

In this regard, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov denies information about the mobilization of 1.2 million people.

“The announcement of plans to call up 1.2 million Russians as part of the partial mobilization is also a lie,” Peskov said.

It will be remembered that this week the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, announced a partial mobilization in the country. According to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, 300,000 people will be formed.

Meanwhile, the media reported that Putin’s order allowed 1 million Russians to be mobilized. This figure allegedly contains the secret seventh paragraph of the order of the President of the Russian Federation.

Peskov was surprised by the “hysterical” reaction of Russians to the mobilization
