There have been recorded cases of passengers dropping off at the border without corresponding documents with them.
Ukrzaliznytsia recalled that in order to cross the border with EU countries, Ukrainians need to have a passport. This was announced on Sunday, April 17, in a company statement to the Telegram.
They said they had already witnessed a drop in passengers crossing the EU border.
“Today, cases of reduction of passengers at the border have already been recorded. We consider it unacceptable without prior notification to the passengers and the carrier,” Ukrzaliznytsia said.
They noted that the decision on the possibility of crossing the border was made by the State Border Service.
“With the decision of the border guards on the possession of other identity documents, and the existence of clashes in the region where the passenger will come from,” the company said.
They also added that they are awaiting clarifications from GNSU on the rules for crossing the border of citizens of Ukraine without international passports.
The company also stressed that for railroad workers, the main mission since Feb. 24 has been to rescue and deliver thousands of people from the bottom of the fire line to safe areas.
“Passengers are requested to be attentive to changes in the rules for crossing the border and address clarification questions to GNSU,” the statement said.
Recall that from April 16, rail communication in the deblocked Chernihiv and some communities of the region was resumed.
