Attempts by the Russian military command to launch a large-scale recruitment campaign in Pridnestrovie did not yield practical results.
The population of Moldovan Transnistria refused to sign contracts with the Russian army, because they did not want to go to war, and to the “operational group of troops” – mass desertion. This was announced on Thursday, September 8, by the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of Ukraine.
“Attempts of the military command of the Russian Federation to launch an extensive recruitment campaign in Pridnestrovie did not give practical results. The local population refused to join the Russian army, despite the promises of the high cash payments, social packages and the likely provision of housing,” intelligence officers said.
They noted that the main reason for the refusals was the unwillingness to participate in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine.
“Moreover, many of the “volunteers” who decided to sign a contract at the beginning of the war have died or are in the status of missing,” notes the GUR.
There is also mass dismissal in the service after the expiry of the contract.
GUR reported that the “operational group” has intensified the conduct of military exercises. In particular, the number of training sessions in the logistics and medical assistance units of the military has been increased.
At the same time, according to intelligence, the outdated rear material and technical base does not allow a qualitative improvement in the level of readiness of logistics units.
“A similar situation is observed in the training of military doctors – the number of classes has increased, but outdated techniques are used to provide first aid on the battlefield and subsequent evacuation and allocation of medical supply. And soldiers are provided with equipment, medicines, individual dressing bags and rubber bands of exclusive Soviet design “, – reported in GUR.
Earlier, Russia said that many Russian-speaking people live in Pridnestrovie and that the region should be incorporated into the Russian Federation.
