At the Temple Mount in Jerusalem on the morning of April 15, there were riots and clashes. More than 150 people were injured, according to the Jerusalem Post.
This happened after a group of instigators began throwing stones at Jewish worshipers at the Western Wall and at Israeli security forces.
Three Israeli policemen were among those injured, according to the Red Cross. More than 300 rioters were detained.
Noting that the riots and clashes continued for about six hours from early Friday morning, they started during the prayer period on the occasion of the second Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
About 12 thousand Muslims gathered for this prayer on the Temple Mount, and among them were about 100 violent protesters. Some of them carried the flags of Hamas and the Palestinian Authority.
After the prayer, police tried to push the instigators of the riots from the Temple Mount, but they barricaded themselves at the Al-Aqsa mosque.
There they stored stones and rebar, which they used in combat with Israeli security forces. Police fired tear gas, stun grenades and rubber bullets to disperse the protesters.
According to Israeli media, Israeli security forces are preparing for a new outbreak of protests on Friday night, when the Passover holiday for Jews arrives.
Earlier it was reported that two people were killed and eight were injured in the shooting in Tel Aviv.
