Both women are activists of the LGBT community. On January 16, 2022, the Prosecutor’s Office of Urmia accused two activists of the LGT community of corruption on Earth by promoting homosexuality, Christianity and media communication against the Islamic Republic.

In doing so, while expressing deep concern at the death penalty imposed on these two individuals, the Hengaw Human Rights Organization confirmed that the prosecutor’s office and the Revolutionary Court of Urmia are among the most prominent courts in dealing with those politically, ideologically and LGBT accused with generally substandard fair trials and no respect for the rights of defendants. The organization urges human rights organizations to pay attention to the situation of the two people.
Recall that in the temporarily occupied city of Mariupol, the Russian invaders introduced the death penalty.
In the “DPR” the death penalty is “legalized”.
