At the Zaporozhye NPP on Saturday night, September 3, due to the continuous shelling of the Russian military communication lines, the power unit No. 5 were killed, Energoatom reports.
It was noted that such a decision was made due to insufficient capacity of the last, reserve line for two power units.
Today the sixth power unit remains in operation, which, with a limited capacity, supplies electricity to the energy system of Ukraine through a reserve line, and also provides for its own needs of the Zaporozhye NPP.
Recall that the shutdown of the Zaporizhzhya NPP from the power grid and the shutdown of one of the units was also reported by the International Atomic Energy Agency, whose specialists were at the plant as observers. The IAEA mission arrived at the station on September 1st.
On September 2, it was reported that two power units were operating at the Zaporozhye NPP, producing electricity for Ukraine’s needs.
