The state inspector of the customs post Koson of the Transcarpathian customs of the State Customs Service of Ukraine will be tried for taking a bribe. The Office of the Prosecutor General reported this on Friday, September 2.
“The investigation found that in May 2022, a customs officer received $10,000 in illegal benefits from an individual for bringing money across the state border of Ukraine beyond the limit established by law without documentary confirmation of their origin,” the report said.
The criminal case is initiated under the article on the acceptance of an offer, promise or acceptance of an illegal benefit by an official (part 3 of article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
