In just four days, six people ended up in hospital beds, and two of them died a few days later.
In Argentina, at the end of August, patients with severe pneumonia of unknown origin began to be admitted to the hospital. Express reports.
According to the Ministry of Health, the six reported cases are five healthcare workers and one patient who started showing symptoms between August 18 and 22.
As a result of the disease, two people died, three are still in the hospital, and one is in a satisfactory condition isolated at home.
“These patients are combined with a severe respiratory disease with bilateral pneumonia, as well as a symbolic presentation very similar to COVID-19, but this has been ruled out,” said provincial minister Luis Medina Ruiz.
In particular, during treatment, doctors conducted a series of studies to establish the cause of the outbreak. Doctors tested for COVID-19, influenza, influenza A and B, hantavirus (infections carried by rats), and 25 other germs, all of which came back negative.
Representatives suggest that this disease can be caused by a virus or bacteria, and toxic and environmental causes are also possible.
It was previously reported that non-communicable diseases are the leading cause of early death (before the age of 70) in Ukraine.
