Since the beginning of the Russian Federation’s massive invasion of Ukraine, as of August 31, 230 children are considered missing. Data from the state portal Children of War was published by the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
It was also noted that 7297 children were deported. At the same time, 5177 children have already been found.
More than 1,114 children were reportedly affected by the Russian invasion.
“On the morning of August 31, 2022, the official number of child victims per day did not change – 379. The data on the injured did not change – more than 735,” the statement said.
These numbers are not final, as work is underway to establish them in areas of active conflict, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
Children suffered the most in Donetsk region – 388, Kharkov – 202, Kyiv – 116, Chernihiv – 68, Mykolaiv – 67, Lugansk – 61, Kherson – 55, Zaporozhye – 46.
In addition, due to the bombing and shelling of the Russian armed forces, 2328 educational institutions were damaged, of which 289 were completely destroyed.
It was previously reported that 379 children have died in Ukraine since the war began.
It will be recalled that Ukraine has returned 53 deported children from Russia. Not only the parents and relatives of these children, but also their acquaintances can apply to the Ministry of Reintegration regarding the search for children who may have been abducted and brought to the Russian Federation.
