Russia’s ally Kazakhstan announced a temporary halt to all arms exports.
Kazakhstan intends not to carry out defense deliveries abroad for a year, the country’s government said without justifying this step.
No information has yet been provided on the volume of delivery. Kazakhstan produces various types of weapons, such as armored personnel carriers, firearms and ammunition.
Kazakhstan maintains economic relations with Ukraine and has so far avoided joining one of the parties to the conflict.
Earlier, Kazakhstan, due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, decided to increase the defense budget by about $918 million.
On August 27, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that Russian troops were refusing to return from Kazakhstan so as not to fight in Ukraine.
We are talking about a thousand servicemen who refuse to leave the country and return to their places of permanent deployment.
The formal reason for the refusal is the lack of special transport aircraft.
