The journalist who visited the site of the Russian strike saw only the bodies of civilians and children, while in the Russian Federation they said that 200 military soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were killed.
Among the passengers who died in Chaplino were no soldiers, only civilians. This was reported on Friday, August 26, by the Associated Press, citing the words of a correspondent who visited Chaplino after the Russian strikes.
“While Russia said it targeted the train because it was carrying Ukrainian troops and equipment, an Associated Press reporter on the spot said there were no visible signs that Ukrainian servicemen were among the dead,” the agency said.
At the same time, the journalist noted that he saw children among the dead.
The AP, citing experts, reports that this strike could be recognized as a war crime.
Recall that on August 24, the Russians attacked the Chaplino railway station in the Dnipropetrovsk region with an Iskander missile. As a result of the attack, 25 people died and 31 were injured.
Russia acknowledged the attack on the railway station in Chaplino, stating that more than 200 servicemen of the reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and 10 pieces of military equipment were killed as a result of the Iskander missile attack.
