The US wants to hold war criminal and self-proclaimed Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko accountable for supporting Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

According to American diplomats, the actions of the Belarusian dictator blew up the sovereignty of Belarus. This is stated in a statement published on the website of the US Embassy in Belarus.

In a Ukraine Independence Day address, US diplomats said the Lukashenka regime’s focus solely on maintaining power undermined Belarus’ sovereignty and placed the country’s territory, airspace and infrastructure at the service of Russia’s military needs.

The department emphasized that the participation of the Lukashenka regime in the war of Russia against Ukraine is contrary to the will of the people of Belarus. And the Belarusian volunteers are fighting alongside the Ukrainian troops, defending the territory of Ukraine. As 5.UA reported, on February 26, the Minister of Defense of Belarus called Reznikov and offered to surrender. Recall that Lukashenka wished Ukraine a peaceful sky on Independence Day, while rockets were launched from the territory of his state.
