In six months, citizens of the Russian Federation wrote more than 140 thousand denunciations to Roskomnadzor. At the same time, most of the complaints were about “fake” stories about the war. This is stated in a press release, which on Thursday, August 25, the department posted on its website.
Roskomnadzor reports that it has received 144,835 complaints since the beginning of 2022. Most of them concern “the posting of illegal information on the Internet, including the so-called” fake “about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Roskomnadzor received the most appeals in March – 10,323 appeals. This is almost four times higher than last year.

The protection of personal data has become a popular topic. On this issue, the department received 27,212 appeals from Russians.
