A Russian missile attack on the Chaplino train station in the Dnipropetrovsk region killed at least 22 people. Said data was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky in a video message on Wednesday, August 24.
“Chaplino is our disease today. So far, 22 dead, five of them burned in the car, one teenager died, he was 11 years old, a Russian rocket destroyed his house. Search and rescue work on the railway continues the station,” said the leader.
Zelensky said that the occupiers will definitely answer for everything they did on Ukrainian land.
As specified in the Office of the President, the Russians attacked the village of Chaplino twice – with one missile during the day and four at night, precisely on the station.
In particular, one shell damaged the railway buildings, the next three hit the station. The impact caused fire in five passenger vehicles.
Recall that Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed the members of the UN General Assembly about the incident in his speech at the meeting. 15 dead and 50 wounded civilians were reported.
