Experts say the widespread damage in Kharkiv could indicate that the Russian Federation is detonating ammo clusters at higher altitudes than usual.
The British non-profit organization Airwars has published a report on the use of cluster munitions by Russian troops in Kharkiv.
A total of 26 impact sites covering an area of 350 meters have been documented. In particular, attacks at the children’s hospital and at the Blood Service Center were analyzed in February.
“Ammunition clusters can have ranges from about 100 meters (the size of a football field) to several times larger, depending on the height at which they explode,” the report said.
Experts answering questions from Airwars said the widespread damage to Kharkiv could indicate that the Russian Federation was detonating cluster munitions at higher altitudes than usual, and suggested that the strike was carried out by a single missile.
It was previously reported that the UN has evidence of the use of Russian cluster munitions in Ukraine.
