“A 60-year-old woman drove a car into the grounds where a wedding was being celebrated at the time,” the statement said.
Police said the driver suddenly accelerated and rammed into a crowd of people present at the wedding party.
“For unknown reasons, the car left the highway and crashed into a crowd of people,” police said.
Two people died as a result of the collision, ten were taken to the hospital. Doctors said five of the victims are in stable condition, three are in serious condition and two are in critical condition.
Law enforcement officials say the woman behind the wheel of the vehicle is cooperating with police. As of now, no charges have been brought. The police are investigating.
Earlier in the Lviv region there was a major accident involving two Volvo trucks and a Mercedes bus.
