The vote came ahead of a 12-hour session devoted to discussing the government’s successes and failures.
The representatives of Montenegro passed a vote of no confidence in the government, headed by Dritan Abazovich. The decision was supported by 50 people. On Friday, August 19, the Mina agency reported.
“50 deputies voted for no confidence in the 43rd government of Montenegro, one abstained. So, the Cabinet lost confidence, the meeting is over,” the presidium announced the results.
The vote was initiated by the former ruling Democratic Party of Socialists. The party believes that the authorities are not advancing the country on the issue of rapprochement with the European Union, the agency reports.
This is the second vote of no confidence passed by deputies this year. In February, the Montenegrin parliament passed a vote of no confidence in Zdravko Krivokapic’s cabinet, formed by the opposition for the first time in 30 years. The approval of the new Cabinet took place only at the end of April.
Then the initiator of the resignation of the government was one of the parties of the ruling coalition – URA. They explained their initiative there by the fact that the current cabinet does not have the support of the parliament, and because of this, Montenegro’s movement towards EU membership has slowed down.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro declared Russian Ambassador Vladislav Maslenikov persona non grata.
