Key to the cooperation is the restoration of Ukrainian cities affected by Russian missiles and artillery.
During a visit to Ukraine by representatives of the Association of European Cities Eurocities, headed by the mayor of Florence, a memorandum of cooperation between Ukraine and European cities and communities was signed. This was announced on Friday, August 19, by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in a video message.
“This Association brings together the mayors of more than 150 European cities, and representatives of dozens of partner cities. We will work directly with them – Ukrainian cities and communities with European ones,” said by Zelensky.
According to him, the key to cooperation is the restoration of Ukrainian cities that suffered from Russian aggressors.
“But this will not be the only subject of our important cooperation. The modern development of any country is, first of all, the development of cities, the creation of new opportunities and institutions in cities, it is the exchange of experience between cities and city institutions. This means new jobs, more social cooperation “From the Ukrainian side, the subject of relations with the Association of European Cities is our Congress of Local and Regional that Authority. I want to make sure that every city in our state benefits from this. We are interested in sustainable development throughout Ukraine – and will be. Without any exceptions,” insisted the leader of Ukraine.
It will be recalled that Ukraine and Turkey signed a memorandum on the post-war restoration of Ukraine.
