About two and a half years after the start of the pandemic, the number of cases of coronavirus infection in the world has exceeded half a billion.
The number of coronavirus cases in the world has exceeded 500 million, according to data by worldometers on Tuesday, April 12th.
Thus, since the beginning of the pandemic, 500,053,954 cases of the disease have been confirmed, of which 449,915,604 people have recovered, and 6,206,066 have died.
As before, the majority of cases in the United States – more than 82.1 million, followed by India – 43 million and Brazil – 30.1 million.
Ukraine, according to the site, was in 22nd place (before the war it was in 17th place) with 4,985,150 cases and 108,139 deaths.
Earlier, the Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko said that the coronavirus had not disappeared during the war and approximately 4-5 thousand cases of infection were recorded in the country every day.
Also, a week ago, the WHO reported that the death rate from coronavirus in the world had dropped dramatically – in the week from March 28 to April 3, there were 43% fewer deaths.
