The world’s population exceeds 8 billion people

Ukraine with a population of 43.4 million is in 35th place on the list, Ukrainians make up 0.54% of the world’s population.

As of August 15, the population of planet Earth was 8.009 billion people. Such data is provided by the statistical service Countrymeters, which counts earthlings in real time.

As indicated, in the world the male population prevails over the female – 50.5% compared to 49.5%.

So, the top five countries with the largest number of inhabitants look like this:

  • China – 1.456 billion;

  • India – 1.418 billion;

  • USA – 336 million;

  • Indonesia – 281 million;

  • Pakistan – 230 million

At the same time, Ukraine, with a population of 43.4 million people, is in 35th place (Russia, with 146 million people, is in ninth place). Ukrainians make up 0.54% of the world’s population.

Remember, according to the UN, the world’s population will reach eight billion people on November 15, 2022.

At the same time, experts say that the peak of the world’s population of 9.7-10 billion people is expected in the late 2050s or 2070. After that, the population of the planet will begin to decrease.
