U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Friday accused former U.S. President Donald Trump of “inciting attacks on law enforcement” for his criticism of the FBI following a search of his home, as he did in the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
“He is again provoking attacks on law enforcement,” he said. Nancy Pelosi at a press conference when asked if events such as the attempted attack on the FBI headquarters in Ohio could have something to do with the criticism Donald Trump.
On Thursday morning, a man tried to break into the local FBI headquarters in Cincinnati (Ohio, USA) for reasons still unknown, and later died at the hands of police officers.
Since it became known that last Monday the FBI conducted a search in the house Donald Trump in Mar-a-Lago, in search of secret documents on nuclear weapons that the former president allegedly took from the White House, the former president devoted himself to criticizing the organization.
In his press release, the Attorney General of the United States Merrick Garlandexplained yesterday that he himself had authorized a search warrant for the former president’s Mar-a-Lago mansion and that he had asked a Florida court to release both that warrant and an inventory of what was confiscated by the FBI.
Own Donald Trump demanded that the contents of the documents seized from his home be made public as part of what he continues to describe as a “political persecution” against him, in which he himself will participate. FBI.
“This is about our public safety”
Nancy Pelosi This Friday, he urged not to joke with the documents found in the house, because if its contents are “what they seem”, then this is a “very serious” matter.
“This is about our national security, and our concern is always to protect and defend it. This means that we do not take documents lightly,” he said. Nancy Pelosi at a press conference in which he said he did not know their content.
“I know no more than what is in the public domain,” he said. Nancy Pelosi but “if the nature of these documents is as it seems, it is very serious,” he added.
However, the contents of the documents will probably not be known, as they are believed to contain matters relating to national security.
“Hopefully we learn more, but we also don’t want to see much more because it could compromise our security,” he said. Nancy Pelosi, who recalled that “there are laws against the mishandling of this material”.
