The Russians captured the Lugansk region, but in the Donetsk region their progress slowed down, and this was caused, in particular, by heavy losses, experts say.

The latest estimates from US military and intelligence officials are that 500 Russian troops are being killed or wounded every day, and Russian military operations have slowed. The Russian advance was further slowed by America’s multiple rocket launch systems. The New York Times writes about it, citing representatives of the US presidential administration and military experts.

The Russians captured the Lugansk region, but in the Donetsk region their progress slowed down, and this was caused, in particular, by heavy losses, experts say.

“I think it’s safe to assume that the Russians probably lost 70-80,000 people (killed and wounded – Ed.) in less than six months,” said US Under Secretary of Defense for Political Affairs Colin Kahl to journalists.

It was previously reported that since the start of the Russian Federation’s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine, 43,200 invaders have been destroyed.
