The Ministry of Health of the Gaza Strip announced today that the number dead Palestinians during the recent escalation of violence between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) rose to 48after the death of four more people, including two children and a woman.
The latest death recorded Thursday was a death 10 year old girl who was transferred to a Palestinian hospital in Jerusalem after being injured in an Israeli shelling of Gaza City Khan Younis.
Her death was confirmed to Efe by sources close to her family, who specified that the girl, identified as Lian al-Shaerwas wounded last Saturday, the second of three days in which the bloody escalation of violence continued.
Lian’s death adds to this another child and two men died following a ceasefire agreement reached on Sunday as a result of injuries sustained during gunfights.
