Igor Markov, a former People’s Deputy of the Party of Regions, was put on the international wanted list by the Security Service of Ukraine on suspicion of collaborationism. This was reported by the press center of the SBU on August 10.
In connection with the announcement on the international wanted list, now this person is not allowed to enter civilized countries, the intelligence service noted.
The SBU does not directly name Markov, however, it is his blurred photograph that appears in the message. The description of the person involved also corresponds to Markov. In June, the ex-people’s deputy was already informed of the suspicion.
Now an evidence base has been collected against him – in addition to collaborationism, he is accused of encroaching on territorial integrity (part 1 of article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), violating the equality of citizens (part 1 of article 161 of the Criminal Code), propaganda of war (art. 436 of the Criminal Code) and justification of Russian aggression (part 1 of article 436-2 of the Criminal Code).
The new suspicion was based on his calls for war against Ukraine, which he voiced on pro-Kremlin broadcasts, where he acted as an “expert”, as well as inciting hatred and glorifying the “liberators”.
Recall that Markov went to Russia in 2014, where he conducted anti-Ukrainian activities. After the start of a full-scale invasion of Russian troops from March 15 to March 19, 2022, he was in the occupied territory of the Kyiv region, where he supported the actions of the invaders.
