More than fifty Pskov paratroopers refused to return to fight in Ukraine. This number could rise soon.
About 60 paratroopers from Russia’s Pskov refused to participate further in the war in Ukraine, even at the risk of criminal prosecution. This was reported by the publication Pskov province, citing its own sources.
It was noted that these paratroopers had already fought in Ukraine, then they were brought to Belarus, and then returned to their place of permanent deployment in Pskov. Members of the armed forces are now threatened with criminal prosecution for evacuation or disobedience to an order.
It was noted that most of the military who refused to return were fired, some were threatened with criminal charges – prosecution for evacuation or failure to comply with an order (Article 332 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
“But they and (importantly) their families have stood up. According to our data, now commanders do not receive dismissal reports, so many submit them through the military prosecutor’s office,” the message said. .
It was also noticed that in the near future the number of refuseniks could increase significantly, as the 60 people who refused were just one military unit.
By the way, the paratroopers of Pskov have a long -standing relationship with Ukraine – in 2014, almost their entire company died in the battles in the Donbass. About 70 soldiers were killed.
Earlier, intelligence reported that the Russian military had vehemently refused to fight Ukraine.
