Aggression and discrimination
In its annual report, the Movement for Homosexual Integration and Liberation (Movilh) last March indicated that in 2021 there were 1114 complaints or cases of discrimination due to homo- and transphobia, including three murders and 78 physical attacks.
However, complaints fell 12% in 2021, the first drop in eight years.
This fall coincides with the recent entry into force in March last year of a law allowing same-sex marriage, with Chile being the eighth country in Latin America in asserting this right. (EFE)
