FBI Director, Christopher Rayadmitted on Thursday that his agency is still looking for 350 suspects in the January 6, 2021 Capitol attack, for which more than 850 people have already been arrested.

“There were people who managed to hide better than others, and part of the problem is to identify them,” he said, speaking before the US Senate Judiciary Committee.

Ray emphasized that many of those detained at the start of the investigation were quickly discovered because their activities were widely known on social media, making them easier to identify.

That on January 6, 2021, while in Capitol Democrat Joe Biden’s victory in the November 2020 presidential election was confirmed, with about 10,000 people – the majority of then-President Donald Trump’s supporters – marching to the headquarters Congress and about 800 people broke into the building. There were 5 killed and about 140 wounded officers.

Storming the Capitol

Director FBI pointed out this Thursday that his agency does not have specific information to suggest that thousands of people are going to attack Capitol and he argued that in order to ensure situations like this don’t happen again, they are working on how they can develop better sources.

Ray took over the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in August 2017, the third time he has been questioned by the Senate Judiciary Committee on issues related to his work.

The January 6 attack is the subject of two investigations, one judicial and one legislative, by a committee that, at its last meeting on July 21, chided Trump for instigating the attack and not wanting to stop it quickly. EFE

Criminal defense lawyer Carlos Caro emphasized that the criteria of Attorney General Patricia Benavidez prevailed, who said that the President did not have the privilege of choosing the place of the trial due to his condition under investigation. A similar opinion was expressed by a lawyer specializing in the field of constitutional and criminal procedure law Wilber Medina.
