North Macedonia bought the aircraft from Ukraine during the state’s territorial conflict in 2001 for 4 million euros.

The authorities of North Macedonia handed over four Su-25 attack aircraft to Ukraine. This was reported by the local edition of MKD on Thursday, August 4.

It is indicated that the country bought these aircraft from Ukraine during the conflict on the territory of the state in 2001 for 4 million euros. In the summer, they were secretly prepared for transfer to Kyiv at one of the military airfields.

“According to the information received, these repairs are being carried out by Ukrainian military engineers, indicating that this is being done to deliver them to Ukraine, as a gift from our side, so that they are ready for front use,” the report said..

In the publication request, the Ministry of Defense of North Macedonia said that “the exact details of all three decisions, their content and explanations will be declassified and published clearly.” The department ensured that the decisions taken would not reduce the combat readiness of the Macedonian army.

Last week, the media reported that North Macedonia donated T-72 tanks to Ukraine. The country is armed with 31 units of this armored vehicle.
