On Thursday, August 4, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky spoke with the President of Guinea-Bissau Umaru Shisoku Embalo.
“The first conversation in the history of bilateral relations was held with the President of Guinea-Bissau. He congratulated the leader of Guinea-Bissau on his election as chairman of ECOWAS. We discussed support for Ukraine, especially in international organization. He pointed to Ukraine’s readiness to act as a guarantor of food security in the region,” Zelensky wrote in a Twitter.
Recall that in June Zelensky spoke via video link at a meeting of the Bureau of the Assembly of the African Union. He then went on to say how the Russian invasion has affected the region.
