Russia uses mobile gaming apps to collect data in Ukraine.
Through Russian applications, the enemy in the form of a game receives information from users about the location of military facilities, critical infrastructure, or inclines citizens to unconsciously help the occupiers. This was announced today, August 1, by the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The user should be alerted if the application proposes to photograph the area, share geolocation or apply a “drawing” on the pavement, the department notes.
Therefore, for the safe use of online applications, it is recommended to download them only from official sources – Apple App Store, Google Play, Galaxy Store, AppGallery, etc. You should also check all available data, such as information about the developers, the access that the application requires during installation, user reviews, etc.
