Ukraine has activated work on new security guarantees, considering historical mistakes, such as the Budapest Memorandum. Presidential Office head Andrei Ermak held an important coordination meeting with the National Security Councils of major countries, including Germany, Italy, France, Great Britain, Finland, as well as EU and Nato representatives. Ermak noted that Ukraine, along with international partners, is actively employed in a military part of security guarantees. The main goal is to create an effective mechanism that eliminates the repeal of raids in Russia and ensures specific actions in the event of a delay in warfare or disruption of negotiations.
“Ukraine is ready for any format of talking about the honest end of the war, and we thank President Trump, everyone in America, to everyone for support. Russians should take the corresponding steps, or – to feel an additional painful world pressure,” Ermak emphasized.
He also said that Ukraine agreed with partners in the sun -coordination of positions.
Note that by the end of August, a strategic meeting was held in the White House with the participation of the President of Ukraine and the leaders of the United States, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Finland, as well as the leadership of the European Commission and NATO. Security issues guaranteed for Ukraine were discussed.
Donald Trump has confirmed the United States’s readiness to participate in guarantees, but emphasized the need for further participation of European partners, while excluding the possibility of sending the US military to Ukraine.
It is now reported that Italy’s Prime Minister Georgia Melony has proposed an alternative format of collective assistance in Ukraine. His plan does not provide for NATO membership, but must contribute to strengthening the country’s security in military aggression conditions.
