The yield of agricultural crops vary greatly between the southern and eastern regions of our country compared to the central, west and northern regions.
The Ukrainian Agrarian Business Club (Fereb) predicts the reduction in most of the yield in the 2025/26 Marketing Year, which will last from July 2025 to June 2026. It is expected that the total gross harvest and oilseed crops are about 73.4 million tons, 5% less than last year. This is proven by the forecast of the feeling of August 20th.
Thus, making grain crops are predicted at 54.6 million tons, which is 3% less compared to last year. At the same time, making oilseeds can be reduced by 11% – with an indicator of 18.8 million tons.
Feabur detects data on major cultures:
– Wheat: Despite increasing areas of 2%sown, the yield will decrease to 21 million tons (-6%). The greatest effect on this was reduced by culture yield of 17% – up to 42 c/ha, after last year’s high rate (50.6 c/ha).
– Corn: The yield remains almost unchanged compared to last year and will be 26.7 million tons. Sowing areas remain stable, but low productivity continues to be a problem.
– Barley: Looking forward to a fee of 5.2 million tons (-1%).
– Sunflower: The yield will be reduced by 7%, despite increasing the area under this culture, and will be 10.1 million tons. The main reason is a significant collapse in the yield.
– Soya: The greatest reduction is observed precisely in this culture – up to 5.4 million tons (-19%). This is due to a reduction in areas sown by 16%, as well as a slight collapse in the yield.
– RAPS: The reduction in production volumes is predicted by 8%, up to 3.3 million tons. The yield is negatively affected by adverse weather conditions, in which frosts caused productivity loss.
Experts note that there are significant regions in the region between the southern and eastern regions and other regions of the country. The agrarians from the south and east face excessive low yield or even loss of crops due to inadequate rainfall, spring frosts and an abnormal drought in the tag -heat. At the same time, the regions of Central, Western and Northern show stable or even improved results compared to last year.
The director of the club is dedicated to the fact that the forecast remains initial and may change depending on further weather conditions.
Earlier, the Ministry of Agrarian’s policy reported the risk of reducing grain yield in Ukraine to the most petired situations -up to 51 million tons in 2025 (-10% compared to 2024). Oilseeds crops can also be reduced by 5%.
