The Ukrainian government head of the first time, holding this position, was talking to IMF leader Kristalina Georgieva.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko for the first time in its position held a conversation with the Director-Administrator of IMF Kristalina Georgieva. The Ukrainian official reported this on his telegram channel.
“I am grateful for the hot words of support and patience after the Russian shelling of Kyiv yesterday,” said Ukrainian official.
According to Sviridenko, they discussed further steps in working with the IMF. He added that the Ukrainian team is now working on a budget draft for 2026.
“Together with the partners, we are looking for decisions to cover the country’s financial needs in the context of war and to move on to reforms,” the government chief explained.
Sviridenko also announced a visit to Kyiv’s fund mission in late August.
“Leading the months of intensive work and negotiations. We count support and hold obligations,” the Prime Minister completed.
As you know, on July 1, Ukraine received the ninth tranche from the IMF – $ 500 million – to cover priority budget needs.
