US president Donald Trump claims to have “many pressure options” in Russia, the State Secretary ensures.
American officials recently contacted Russian dictatorial representatives Vladimir Putin and discussed issues of the Russian War against Ukraine. This was announced by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in an interview FOX NEWS RADIO.
According to him, Trump had been waiting for more than six months and did everything to ensure that the Russian war against Ukraine ended.
“We are continuing contacts on the Russian side -literally this week, Monday or Tuesday, we had a conversation. Not with Putin, but with some of his close companions, with the hope of gaining some understanding of the way to the world. But we do not see the development,” said the Secretary of the State.
Trump was most angry when he, after the “good phone talk” with Putin, turns to the news and saw that Russia bombed the next city of Ukrainians far from the front line.
“Therefore, at some point, he has to decide: Is it worth trying to go into a truce if one of the parties is not interested in it,” Rubio explained.
He added that the American leader “has many pressure options” in Russia. For example, he could impose a second penalty on selling Russia’s oil, as it was an integral part of Moscow’s income. “Serious” penalties are also possible in the banking sector.
However, the Trump administration expects again to avoid these actions and find the way to stop adventures.
