Today, Australian Defense Minister Richard Marls said the bilateral agreement was signed along with the Minister of Defense of Great Britain John Gilly after a meeting in the city of Dzhilong in Victoria.
“The Dzhongolg agreement will allow comprehensive cooperation in the design, construction, operation, maintenance and disposal of our submarines such as SSN -Aukus,” the statement said.
At the same time, it was noted that the contract was “an obligation for the next 50 years of the British-Australian bilateral defense cooperation in the first level of Aukus.”
The British Ministry of Defense announced this week that a bilateral agreement would be the basis for programs for developing submarines of both allies and expected to take the UK up to 20 billion pounds ($ 27.1 billion) in the form of exporting over the next 25 years.
“Aukus is the largest in Australian history through a defense project, in which Canberra has pledged to spend 368 billion Australian dollars in three decades, including billions of investment at the US production base,” the agency wrote.
