VOLODYMYR ZELENSKY President will submit a bill to strengthen the independence of anti -corruption organs in Verkhovna Rada.
On Wednesday, July 23, the head of state held a number of meetings with the leaders of SBU, Nabu, SAP, the Ministry of the Interior, NAPC, DBR and the Prosecutor General. Law No. 12414 was discussed, the reaction to it and anti -corruption bodies. Zelensky announced this in a video publishing house published on Facebook.
It was important for me to give each of their arguments. It is important that they tell each other that it is accumulated for a long time. I really appreciate an agreement on teamwork and measures that can really give a sense of inevitability, and, therefore, justice in Ukraine, ”he said.
Zelensky also noted that “everyone heard what people say these days,” and emphasized that “all this is in vain.” According to him, Bankova has already analyzed all the problems, all aspects of what should be changed and what should be activated.
The President assured that the new bill “will ensure the force of law enforcement agencies,” but at the same time there will be “all the rules of independence of anti -corruption institutions.”
I will offer Verkhovna Radov from Ukraine a bill that will be an answer that will provide force for the law enforcement system. And there will be no Russian influence or intervention in the activities of law enforcement agencies, and – this is very important – all the rules of independence of anti -corruption institutions will be, ”he said.
We recall that on July 22, Verkhovna Rada approved the bill No. 12414, which significantly increases the influence of the prosecutor’s general’s management on cases, which were previously exclusively within the framework of the competence of Nabu and SAP.
The law allows the Prosecutor General to gain access to all Nabu cases, close the investigation at the request of the protective party, resolve disputes about jurisdiction and sign suspicions of senior officials.
Not only part of Ukrainian society, but also international partners opposed the elimination of independence Nabu and SAP. The EU clearly stated that the current financial support from the European Union is directly related to the compliance of openness standards, the reform of the judicial system and ensuring the democratic principles of the government. Similar requirements are also applied to the European process of integration of Ukraine.
