It was reported that the Bureau for Combating Corruption that Nabu has repeatedly turned to SBU in order to provide official documentary confirmation of the audit results in order to make a reasonable decision – on possible responsibility or further service.

In August 2023, Nabu received information from the SBU leadership about possible risks associated with one of the employees of the Bureau. It was stated that during the period of service in the Ministry of the Interior (2012-2015, that is, before working at Nabu), this person sent information about Ukrainian citizens to one of the employees of the State Security Department (UDO) -Nabu.
The materials said that the mentioned representative of UDO until 2012 held positions in SBU, and from 2012 to 2014 he headed one of the units in the Presidential Security Service within the framework of UDO. According to SBU, after the annexation of Crimea, this person has crossed the side of the country of the aggressor and has been working in the FSO of the Russian Federation since 2020.
The National Bureau was immediately included in the creation of circumstances. As part of the working interaction between Nabu and SBU, an additional check was organized with the participation of identified Nabu employees and one of the heads of SBU divisions. During the joint audit, it was not established that no evidence or evidence was known about the connections between the UDO representative with Russian special services. This was confirmed by the representative of SBU during personal meetings.
In addition, NABU initiated an employee’s survey in order to decide on his further service or possible disciplinary liability. Nevertheless, SBU constantly recommended refraining from what kind of actions so as not to interfere with his operational work on other connections of the former UDO employee. SBU also noted that the references mentioned do not belong to the Nabu employee, and there were no contacts between them, ”said NABU.
The department said that in August 2024, SBU orally announced that during the investigation of the state state treason, no participation of the Nabu employee, which appeared in the investigation of the treason, was established. There is no evidence of participation in anti -state activities.
