Counterintelligence SBU detained a Russian informant who prepared the enemy’s missile attack on the Harkiva City Hall.
The press center of the special service announced this today, July 17.
The man took up the preparation of a new strike on racists in the place of one of the units of the city council. The gamble suggested that the Ukrainian military could be nearby, so it handed over the location of the invaders for a probable attack, the report said.
It is noted that:
- The Russian agent was 45-year-old local unemployed, who was recruited by racists through the channels of the telegram, where she left pro-Russian comments;
- The task of the informant was to circumvent the territory near administrative buildings and check the presence of military equipment and the possible presence of defense forces;
- She maintained contact with Russian special services through the chat -both of Sergey Lebedev (known under the pseudonym “Lokti”), which, hiding in Donetsk, works for the occupiers.
The counterintelligence SBU documented the intellect of abuse and detained it at the place of residence, the special service says.
Security investigators reported a detained suspicion in accordance with two articles of the Criminal Code:
- Part 2 of art. 114–2 (unauthorized distribution of information about the movement, movement or location of the armed forces, if possible, they are identified on Earth);
- Part 2 of art. 436–2 (justification of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the glorification of its participants).
The detainee is in custody without the right to bail, he faces up to eight years in prison with confiscation of property.
