Another stage of exchange of prisoners in the category “seriously wounded and seriously ill”, the agreement by which was reached in Istanbul took place today, June 20.
This was reported at the headquarters of the coordination of the Telegram channel for prisoner of war management (KSPPV).
Another group of defenders with serious injuries and significant health problems was returned from Russian captivity, the report said.
It is noted that during the exchange of Russian captivity, military personnel of the Armed Forces (including representatives of the Military Fleet, the Ground Forces, Tro, DSHV, the forces of unmanned systems), as well as the border service and the National Guard.
All defenders released today belong to a soldier and sergeant. Among the issued defenders of Mariupol, who have been in captivity since 2022, the KSPPV says.
It is noted that:
- All released today are injured or severe medical diagnoses-epilepsy, hypertension, coronary heart disease, problems of vision, diseases of the musculoskeletal system, hernias, chronic digestive diseases;
- Many released were diagnosed with weight loss.
Returned defenders will be sent to medical centers for all necessary exams, as well as further treatment and medical rehabilitation. All released will be provided with the necessary help, they will be restored and pay the appropriate money during their captivity, ”the KSPPV says.
KSPPP added that the exchange process continues in accordance with Istanbul organizations. The exact number of dismissed persons will be announced after the completion of all stages of exchange.
