Raw material exports of the aggressor country have been steadily declining since the start of the war in Ukraine, according to Russian publications.
Russia’s main export of raw materials – gas, oil and metallurgical products – is gradually falling. The fall is expressed both in kind and in monetary terms. This is confirmed by the data of the Federal Tax Service of the Russian Federation, according to the Russian edition of Vedomosti on Tuesday, July 26.
In particular, gas exports in rubles in June 2022 decreased by 40% compared to May of the same year. In turn, the export of oil – by 10%, and metallurgy – by 33%.
gas supplies in May in physical terms reached 12 billion cubic meters of gas. In June, they fell to 10.9 billion cubic meters. Export figures for June 2021 increased by 44%.
However, the decline in exports did not significantly affect Russia’s income in annual terms. The reason for this is the high price of gas export revenues. In particular, in May it was five times higher than last year, and in June it was three times higher than last year’s figures.
Oil exports fell from 18.9 million tons in May to 16.5 million tons in June 2022. A year ago in June, exports were 38% higher.
Metal deliveries from Russia fell in June to 3 million tons from 4.5 million tons in May.
Gas, oil and metallurgical products account for two-thirds of all Russian exports.
Note that official statistics of Russian exports have not been published for several months. Russian economic indicators were classified after the Russian Federation’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24.

Recall that on the eve of Gazprom announced that from July 27 it will reduce gas supplies through Nord Stream 1 to 33 million cubic meters per day. Thus, the gas pipeline will operate at only 20% of the total capacity. As a result, gas prices in Europe rose by almost $100 – to $1,860 per thousand cubic meters.
Earlier, the media reported that the volume of exports through the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline will decrease after Russia resumes gas supplies on July 21.
