The level of confidence in the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky decreased to 65% after a long growth. They do not trust Zelensky at present 30%.
This is evidenced by a new study by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (Kiis).
It should be noted that the level of trust in stable stability Zelenski has increased since December 2024 and in early May reached 74% (22% did not trust him at that time).
Nevertheless, in the second half of May-Great, a decrease in trust will be registered, although its indicators are still higher than in early February (then 57% were trusted, and the balance of poor confidence was +20%) until the exacerbation of relations with the new leadership of the United States.

Sociologists note that at present there is no additional information about the specific reasons for reducing trust, and individual studies must be carried out. However, there are several factors that may affect this:
- The weakening of the effect of “cohesion around the flag” – from February 2025, with exacerbation in relations with the new leadership of the United States, there was a rather sharp increase in trust and unity. However, after a few months, the population may take place in the new international context and an increase in the impact on the presidential perception of other factors, such as the internal situation;
- The short -term influence of the signing of the fossil agreement – a preliminary examination (which registered an increase in trust up to 74%) was in early May 2025 – immediately after signing the agreement. In some people, this can be brief for a surge of optimism and hope, which also affected the president’s higher confidence. After such bursts, it usually returns to more “normal” indicators;
- The lack of progress at the end of the war – some people could strangle expectations regarding the end of the war, in particular, from various negotiations that took place in May 2025;
- The context of the questionnaire and questions – in the survey in early May, Kim asked about trust in 10 politicians. Politicians were read in different orders of different respondents, and later read “Volodymy Zelenskyy”, the higher the trust. This effect applies not only to Zelensky, but also to other politicians. The current survey was only asked about trust in Zelensky.
