The countries “showing an independent position on the Ukrainian issue” should be involved in the work on the formation of a “tribunal”, believes Alexander Bastrykin.
The aggressor country Russia may organize its own “international tribunal” in Ukraine for alleged “war crimes against the peace and security of mankind.” This was said by the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta, published on Monday, July 25.

Bastrykin immediately said that “the creation of such a tribunal under the auspices of the UN in the current perspective is highly questionable.”
“It is more appropriate to resolve this issue with Russian partners in organizations such as CIS, CSTO, BRICS, SCO. The establishment of the court and its charter can be formalized by an agreement between Russia, member countries of these organizations, the Donetsk and republics,” he said.
Bastrykin also believes that it is advisable to involve other countries that “show an independent position on the Ukrainian issue” in the work of building an “international body of justice.” Among the said states, he named Syria, Iran and Bolivia.
Recall that Ukraine plans to create a one-time international tribunal to try Russia’s top leadership, including the current President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
It was previously reported that the International Criminal Court in The Hague has reasonable suspicions about Russian troops being under the court’s jurisdiction. The rules for the presentation of the first charges have already been named.
