The mayor of Kyiv Vitaly Klitschko celebrated the Franz Vinhel prize.
He was awarded this award for “a tireless struggle for peace and freedom, human rights, democracy, as well as for the independence and sovereignty of Ukraine.”
The ceremony took place on June 1 in Saint -Paul -Paul in Frankfurt. From the scene of Klitschko, German Minister of Defense Boris Pistorius, Prime Minister Gessen Boris Ring and mayor Frankfurt Mike Joseph.
This award is a difference for all people of Kivans, the people of Ukraine, who heroically oppose the bloody aggressor. And on how the war at the end of Ukraine depends on the future of all Europe, its security and stability, ”said Vitaly Klitschko during his speech.
He thanked Germany for his support and emphasized that “Extraordinary actions in helping Ukraine” are now necessary.
The mayor of Kyiv also met with Germany’s defense Minister Boris Pistorius. In particular, they discussed the further support of Ukraine and the reconstruction of the destroyed infrastructure.
Vitaly Klitschko became the 12th laureate of the Franz Verta award. It was awarded for every two years since 2003 and includes a symbolic monetary prize of 10 thousand euros. Previous laureates are the former Federal President of Germany, Joachim Gauk, the Nobel Prize in Gerth Müller, Romanian studied Romanian, Romanian study.
