On May 31, the County Court of Pechersky Kiv was arrested by Arthur Yelianov, the extortion of the chairman of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine, and now the lawyer on suspicion of treason.
This was announced by lawyer Olga Demidyuk.
The case concerns the satisfaction of the requirements of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation regarding the restoration of Ukraine from the state of Ukraine 3.1 billion hryvnias for the inability to fulfill guarantees for the obligations of the United Energy Systems of Ukraine Corporation in 1996-1997.
This is the second suspicion of Yelianova. Firstly, he was charged with creating a criminal organization and accepting a proposal, promise or bribery. He was arrested in this case from the end of 2024 to May 30, 2025.
On the eve of the court, he changed his preventive measure to a personal obligation, and when he left the court building, the State Bureau of Investigations detained him again.
The second suspicion is that Yelianov “deliberately used his power to the detriment of the economic security of Ukraine, providing the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and their representatives of assistance in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine.”
According to the investigation, Yelianov organized in courts a scheme of influence on the decision of judges in economic cases, which included illegal interference in the operation of an automated system of management of judicial documents in order to distribute judicial cases in a judge, which he determined in advance. In particular, the judge of the economic court Anatoly Ivchenko, who in September 2012 satisfied the requirement of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation to restore UAH 3.1 billion from Ukraine for the inability to comply with the guy of the United Energy Systems of Ukraine.
Ivchenko was also suspected of this matter, but the high advice of justice did not provide permission to arrest him.
