Germany will provide 5 billion euros of additional military assistance to Ukraine.
Ukraine and Germany agreed to finance Ukrainian -made old weapons. A contract was also concluded between Ukrainian and German defense and industrial complexes. The corresponding agreement on Wednesday, May 28, was signed by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Raising the Umers and the Minister of Defense of Germany Boris Pistorius. This was reported by the Bundesver press service.
The agreements provide that Berlin in the future finances the production of long weapons in Ukraine. And in 2025, they plan to produce a large number of units of long weapons.
The weapon will be quickly available to the Armed Forces – the first of them can be deployed in a few weeks. Since they were already commissioned in the troops, the Ministry of Defense does not require any additional training.
In addition, the Germans will continue to send ammunition to the Ukrainian army. This year, not only artillery ammunitions are represented, but also additional ammunition packages for various weapons systems, in particular for air defense, are represented this year. The armed forces will also receive additional ground weapons and small arms from the Bundeswehr.
In addition, MOU and German Defense Company Diehl signed a contract for the supply of air defense systems and corresponding ammunition to Ukraine.
We will recall that the German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, after a meeting with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenski, announced the signing of an agreement on the intent to acquire long borders of Ukrainian -made. There will be no restrictions on the range. Berlin also finances a significant part of Starlink in Ukraine.
