The procedure for obtaining driver’s documents in Ukraine has changed, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The new rules for obtaining a driver’s license will work in Ukraine from July 24. They suggest a different approach to learning, as well as a change in the algorithm for passing the tests. This was reported by the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) of Ukraine on Friday, July 22.
They noted that obtaining a driver’s document is now possible only after passing a theoretical course at a driving school and successfully passing a test at the territorial service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. After passing the theory, as well as passing the exam, you can start the practical course and go out on the streets.
The theoretical course of study provides for: mastering the rules of the road, the rules for operating vehicles, the basics of traffic safety and the provision of medical care.
At the same time, the internal theoretical test at the driving school has been cancelled. After training, the educational institution generates a Certificate of completion of theoretical training and enters data into the Unified State Register of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
This is followed by an examination at the territorial service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. However, this does not apply to future drivers of categories BE, C1E, SE, D1E and DE.
After this, you can expect to receive a certificate, which is a pass on a practical course of study. It will be valid for one year.
After completing the practical course – a mandatory exam. Upon successful completion of the exam, the institution will issue a certificate of completion of practical training, valid for two years.
Ukrainians now have the right to choose from accredited educational institutions one for theoretical training and the other for practical.
Everyone who started training, retraining at a driving school and advanced training for drivers of vehicles before July 24 continues to study the old standards and pass internal tests at a driving school and exams at the territorial service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs according to the old algorithm.
